This 5-day safari is designed to give you an exciting Great Wildebeest Migration experience while also allowing you to explore Central and Northern Serengeti and finish with a full wildlife experience in the Ngorongoro Crater. Flying into the Serengeti saves driving time and allows you to spend more time enjoying the safari.
Your safari begins with a morning flight from Arusha to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will meet your private safari guide and start your first game drive. You will explore the beautiful Serengeti plains, looking for wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, and other wildlife. You will stop for a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing with an afternoon game drive.
As the sun sets, you will drive to your lodge or luxury tented camp for dinner and overnight. For a honeymoon, you can enjoy a romantic sundowner before dinner.
Accommodation: Four seasons safari lodge
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
After an early breakfast, you will depart for the Northern Serengeti, following the direction of the wildebeest migration. The Northern Serengeti is an important area during the migration season, particularly around the Mara River. You will spend the day exploring the area and searching for large herds of wildebeest and zebra. If the herds are gathered near the river and conditions are suitable, you may have the opportunity to witness a spectacular Mara River crossing. However, river crossings are natural events and cannot be guaranteed.
You will also have opportunities to see lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and hyenas.
After a full day of game viewing, return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: lobo wildlife lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti before beginning your journey toward Central Serengeti. As you travel south, you will continue with game viewing along the way. The Serengeti landscape provides excellent opportunities to see wildlife, including wildebeest, zebra, elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, and other animals. In the afternoon, you will arrive in the Seronera area of Central Serengeti, which is famous for its excellent wildlife viewing and is particularly good for spotting big cats.
After checking into your lodge or luxury tented camp, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. In the evening, you can enjoy a romantic sundowner and dinner.
Overnight: serenera wildlife lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning game drive in Central Serengeti. This gives you another opportunity to see the wildlife of the Seronera area before leaving the Serengeti. After the game drive, you will begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you can enjoy wildlife viewing and the changing landscapes from the Serengeti plains toward the highlands. Depending on your schedule, you may have the opportunity to visit Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site.
In the late afternoon, you will arrive at your lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Here you can relax and enjoy spectacular views over the crater before dinner.
Overnight: Hhando Coffee lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After an early breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive. The crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife. During your game drive, you may see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, and, with good luck, the endangered black rhino. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing your final game viewing.
After the game drive, you will ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha, where your 5-day fly-in wildebeest migration safari comes to an end.
